Angela Griffin

Angela Griffin is a popular British actress and television presenter who has been a mainstay on British television since the early 1990s.

She appeared in the popular long-running British soap operas Emmerdale and most famously in Coronation Street as Fiona Middleton from 1993 to 1998. Subsequently she joined the BBC medical drama series Holby City as Staff Nurse Jasmine Hopkins. She has also appeared in the BBC dramas Cutting It and Down to Earth. From 2006 to 2010 she appeared as teacher Kim Campbell in the BBC school drama series Waterloo Road. Angela is also an established presenter and in January 2010 she co-presented Sky 1's coverage of the Golden Globes red carpet alongside Gethin Jones. She also presented The Midweek National Lottery in 1999 and also took part in the BBC's millennium programme on New Year's Eve. In 2001 she presented a programme on the UK's Channel 4 on the subject of mixed race people in British society. The show included interviews with a large number of well-known British mixed-race people such as Bruce Oldfield and Hanif Kureishi, as well as political figures such as Tony Benn. Angela had her own live daytime show on Sky1 called Angela and Friends, a mix of health, celebrity gossip, which ran from November 2009 to July 2010. She presented The Midweek National Lottery in 1999 and also took part in the BBC's millennium programme on New Year's Eve. Angela also provides the voice of Amy, the vet in children's television show Postman Pat. In January 2010, she co-presented Sky 1's coverage of the Golden Globes red carpet. She has also appeared in the Sky TV comedy drama Mount Pleasant and Emergency With Angela Griffin. In 2012, she appeared in BBC2's 'The Great Sport Relief Bake-Off' and was one of three finalists. Also in 2012, Angela's endorsement potential was cemented when she was announced as the new Brand Ambassador for Fairy.
